With new initiatives within plastic waste management, we hope to inspire others and contribute to protecting the climate and the environment.
Back in 2020, we reported on the then non-statutory measures that we had already introduced in relation to waste management of plastic. Since then, we have sorted plastic waste into transparent plastic, coloured plastic, and strapping. With our new initiative, we now also collect hard plastic instead of it ending up as combustible waste.
The different types of plastic were previously collected in plastic bags and picked up twice a week. By acquiring a plastic press, the collection frequency has been reduced to once every two months. By transporting compacted waste rather than "air-filled" waste, the environmental impact is reduced and, as a bonus, also costs. Another advantage is that the waste does not require extra handling but can immediately be transported directly into recycling.

Within waste sorting, we have also started collecting the backing paper from our label printers and copy paper in general.

With care, you can protect the environment and often also achieve savings as a result. We will continue to launch and report on new initiatives that protect the environment and our common future. At the same time, we would like to encourage everyone else to do the same.
